African Wooden Tribal Songye Kifwebe Mask 16.5″ H

This Songye Kifwebe  mask  is used by members of the Bwadi Bwa Kifwebe Secret society. Made in the DR Congo, it measures approximately 16.5″ in height, 8″ in width, and 5″ in depth. The mask features bright, colorful pigment stripes in beige, brown, and mustard. The face is covered with linear incisions and a square, protruding mouth. These masks are used during initiation, circumcision, or funeral ceremonies and hold great magical power depending on the size of the central crest. See the amazing details and colors in person!
